Market share of Smartphone and Operating System in the US market

Samsung and Apple both is indeed two most innovative Smartphone maker of the World, with Android and iOS as OS for these devices. The Americans love to have the Android OS as there Smartphone’s Operating System but this fact can’t be neglected that still Apple is in the leading and dominate position of U.S Smartphone market. These facts are for the last three months and are limited to the USA only.

According to the new reports the; Apple’s share in the Smartphone market remains 39.2 % with a slight increase of just 0.3 percent. This positive move is accounted from the month of February. While the famous Samsung adjust itself at second spot with a market share of 23 percent for Smartphone, the Korean Mobile manufacturer shows a 1.7 percent upward trend.

Android & iOS

Android is the leader in the Operating System as a platform for the Smartphone as Android OS has 52.4 percent market share with a slight upward movement of 0.7 %. The stated period is from February 2013 to May 2013. Apple’s Operating System is stood at the second place as a platform for the Smartphone, while it accounts for 39.2 % market share

BlackBerry stands at the third rank with a downward slope of -0.6 % while the Microsoft OS is stood at the fourth rank with a nominal market share as of 3 % only. The Symbian has a very low market share which is freezing furthermore and drops from 0.5 % to 0.4 %.

When we see at the chart that reveals that Android and iOS are the two big game leader of OS and Smartphone and they are securing they are position by managing their resources while Samsung has also a plan to launch its own OS Tizen that has create interesting situation and the fight for top 5 OS will reaches at the peak when the Korean company will launch its own OS and this will also affect the market share of Android indeed.

According to the report, both Android and Apple’s OS accounted for 92.3 percent of all Smartphone OS during the first quarter of 2013. While both successfully shipped 199.5 million devices all around the world during the first three month of this year. During the first quarter of 2012 year both Android and Apple accounted for about 125.4 million devices that mean 59.1 percent increase within a year.
